3-14-2015 Spring Stout

  A light bodied, but full flavored stout for the warmer weather.  A favortie recipe of us here at the shop, and in our minds a great beer for all seasons.

 

Grain:

.5 lbs Uk Roasted Barley

.33 lbs Uk Pale Chocolate

.33 lbs Uk 60L Crystal

.25 lbs German Carafa I Special

 

Extract:

3 lbs Muntons Light Dried Malt Extract

1 lbs Muntons Amber Dried Malt Extract

 

Boil:

60min: .75 oz Bramling Cross 7.8% Alpha

45min: 1 tsp Irish Moss

10min: .25 oz Bramling Cross 7.8% Alpha

 

Yeast:

Fermentis S-04 or WYeast 1084

 

Suggestion:

To mimic Dublin's hard water we suggest adding 6 grams of Calcium Carbonate (chalk) to the wort before extracts.
