Black Malt, also call "Black Patent" is used in small amounts for dark ales & lagers; and in larger quantities in porters and stouts. Black malt lends a very dry character when a lot is used, as in stouts and contributes a very dark color while not coloring the head very much.

Does not need mashing. No enzymes. Use for 7% or less of total mash. Color about 538-713 Lov. Adds about .0045/lb/5gal to gravity.
Instructions:
Add to mash for all-grain brewing, or use 'tea bag' method (steep and strain) in an extract brew.
