Our own AWARD WINNER in the 2010 WNY Amber Waves of Grain Homebrew Competition. We tweaked this recipe for a Smoked Porter using Briess' liquid malt extracts, a healthy amount of cherry wood smoked malt in addition to 3 more specialty malts and high alpha American hops. We think you'll find it a delicious, dark, malty brew of moderate strength and just the right amount of smoky flavor and aroma. A great beer any time of year; it pairs well with rich cheeses, smoked fish, hearty stews and barbeque.
